Woman involved in Yairipok blast produced before court

IMPHAL, Nov 4: The woman who was arrested by police for her involvement in the blast at the gate of Parliamentary Secretary K Meghachandra at Yairipok Bishnunaha on November 2, in which two persons were killed, was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC)/Thoubal today.

The arrested woman has been identified as Anu Chiru, 38 wife of Khamba from Senapati district but presently staying in a rented house at Hatta Minuthong.

Sources said Anu Chiru was apprehended in connection with a case registered following the deadly blast and was amongst the suspects pulled up for interrogation.

She has been remanded to police custody for seven days by the court.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the two killed in the blast are still lying at the JNIMS morgue without conducting post mortem examination as family members of the deceased have not officially identified and claimed the bodies so far.
