IMPHAL, Dec 18: A Chinese hand grenade was found planted at the reception hall of Imphal Hospital and Research Centre at RIMS Road, Imphal West around 5.30 pm today.
According to staff of the hospital, the bomb wrapped in a red-colour polythene bag was spotted by one of the workers in one of the waiting halls of the hospital, causing panic to the staff and patient parties.
On receiving the news, a team of Imphal Police Station led by OC Th Dinesh and SI Th Jevananda arrived and retrieved the bomb safely.
Concerned by the bomb plant at the hospital, the hospital staff appealed to all the concerned organizations to not cause such tension to the hospital which has been rendering health services even in difficult times.
