KANGPOKPI, December 6: Advocating the deep purposes of disability life in the society, Dr Satkhokai Chongloi, general secretary, Kuki Organization for Human Rights (KOHUR) motivated the people to discover the purposes, not only the problems, in the life of disable people in the society.
The KOHUR secretary, who is also the Principal of RTC, Imphal was speaking at the `Day of Prayer for Disables` organized in association with the International Disableds`™ Day observance at Kangpokpi Christian Church today at Kangpokpi town.
Sponsored by Light for the World, the event was jointly organized by the All Disabled`™s Union Sadar Hills (ADUSH) and Manipur North Economic Development Association (MANEDA) in collaboration with Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship (KTCF) under the theme `The work of God should be made manifest in him (Disable people)`.
It is the first of its kind in the churches history of Sadar Hills and Senapati where they dedicated a day for prayer for the differently abled persons in the society.
Based on the Gospel of the Holy Bible John chapter 9 verse 3, Dr. Satkhokai Chongloi, who attended the occasion as speaker said, `As Jesus passed by, he saw a man blind from birth and his disciples asked him, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Jesus answered, `It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.`, added Chongloi while adding that people in our society also discover only the problems part of the disable person as the disciples of Jesus Christ do but failed to recognized their purposes as Jesus.
