JIRIBAM, Dec 26 (JNN): The Naga National Council Zeliangrong Region has said that the person reportedly killed in an alleged gun-fight with security forces on December 23 at Khoupum in Tamenglong district is not related to the organisation in any manner. The NNC Zeliangrong Region has also condemned linking the person to the outfit.
A statement issued by its vice president Keineha made available to the JNN said that the NNC will never be involved in such gun-fight and will never support any militant group in such violence.
Linking the NNC to the gun-fight is unfounded and an attempt to tarnish the image of the outfit. At the same time such incident is against the NNC’s principle of non-violence, it said.
It further reminded that on December 11, the president of the NNC Zeliangrong Region S Saphulak in a statement had announced that Dinbui Gonmei and Joshua alias Dinpatrei have been terminated from the outfit for carrying out anti-national activities and that Karamsui Thaimei son of Makunai Thaimai of Genglon Village, Tamenglong district who was killed in the alleged gun-fight with the security forces was a close associate of Dinbui Gonmei.
