UNLF claims bomb attacks

IMHAL, December 26: Proscribed outfit United National Liberation Front: Manipur has claimed that the outfit was behind the bomb explosions near the I-20 car of Sikander Shaha who was residing in a rented accommodation at Major Khul and another near the Punya Hyundai Show Room at Dingku Road.

A statement of the outfit signed by its director department of publicity M Sak-hen has said that the Sikander who is a dealer of steel and cement at Kalibari Thangal Bazar, was attacked for his actions against the outfit, assisting in the arrest of its cadres and for being an informer.

The attack on his car is the first warning, it said.

It has further warned that if the steel dealer fails to come before the outfit to clarify his actions, further actions will be undertaken against him.

It also claimed that the bomb explosion near an electric transformer inside the Punya Hyundai car showroom was carried out by the outfit against the disregard shown by its proprietor Mangsatabam Punya alias Andy and other related individuals to repeated efforts of the outfit to contact them.

The outfit also clarified that the bomb explosions was timed during the night so as that there was no civilian injuries.
