IMPHAL, Dec 26: In an unfortunate road mishap, two brothers, a truck driver and a handyman were killed when the vehicle veered off track and plunged into a deep gorge in a place between Kambiron and Barak along NH-37 under Nungba Police Station, Tamenglong district on December 24 around 10 pm.
The deceased have been identified as Md Jalaluddin (driver), 30 son of Md Suraj Ali from Kalinagar Part III in Hailakandi district, Assam and his younger brother Borun Ali (handyman), 16.
Reports said the ill-fated truck bearing registration number AS-24/C-6109 carrying cement was coming from Jiribam towards Imphal when its driver lost while trying to overtake another truck on the way and fell into a gorge, killing both of them.
Police have registered a case in connection with the road mishap, the reports stated.
