IMPHAL, December 27: Sagolband MLA RK Imo today assured more developmental work in his constituency, but at the same time acknowledged that taking up all developmental work simultaneously would be impossible due to fund constrain.
He said the developmental works would have to be taken up one at a time.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of a newly constructed fencing of the western and southern side of Young Social Service Union, Sagolband Nepra Manjor today. The wall was constructed from the MLA LADF at an estimated cost of around Rs 8 lakhs, according to the MLA.
He said the MLA Local Area Development Fund sanctioned by the government is just Rs 1 crore which is quite low considering the works being taken up and those on the pipeline.
However, considering the welfare of the constituency, he said he has already expended around Rs 2 crore in development works.
He claimed in his effort to bring development in his constituency beyond the permissible limit of the LADF, he has already taken up several works from his own fund.
He said he will work with all transparency and anyone is welcome to seek any information or details of the various development works undertaken by him.
Altogether 79 LED street-lamps will soon be erected along the Sagolband Road starting from Wahengbam Leikai to Oriental College for which the Chief Minister has already given his assurance, he said.
He said the Chief Minister has also assured lighting up of Thangal Bazar and Paona Bazar during this financial year.
The MLA further appealed to people of his constituency to approach him if anyone is unhappy with the distribution of PDS items in the constituency.
