IMPHAL, Dec 5: In compliance with the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West A Noutuneshwari Devi’s ruling pronounced yesterday, Irom Chanu Sharmila was allowed sunlight exposure for 30 minutes starting today and taken outside from her security ward where she is lodged under judicial custody.
Sources from the Manipur Central Jail said Sharmila was taken out from 11:30am till noon.
She was taken out by staff of the jail with support from Imphal East district police personnel, informed the source.
It is also learnt that she will be allowed to sunlight exposure till further advice from the doctors concerned.
Meanwhile, court had also instructed the SP Manipur Central Jail to submit a compliance report before December 19.
