IMPHAL, December 20: As part of cleanliness drive, a special campaign for Swachh Bharat was organised at the Post Offices in Manipur including Imphal Head Post Office.
The Special Campaign is being organised from December 18 to December 27, 2015 across the country in all the levels of Post Offices ie Branch Office, Sub Office and Head Office.
Vinod Kumar, Director (Posts), Manipur has said that the Special Campaign includes cleaning the workspace, the surroundings of Post Offices, Postal Staff Colony, weeding out of old records and unused furniture with due procedure, display banners for Swachh Bharat in Head Post Office etc.
He mentioned that in order to successfully implement the campaign, he has entrusted the task to all the respective sub divisional heads to carry out the cleanliness mission and submit reports along with photographs.
Around 20 staff including the Supdt. of POs (HQ), Imphal participated in the campaign.
The Director (Posts) also planted trees at Imphal HPO Complex as part of this Special Campaign.
He further said that digitisation of Post Office Saving Bank and Postal Life insurance records would also contribute a lot to the clearing up of piles of paperwork thereby saving space for other purposes. As such, he has directed the SB Branch and PLI Branch of his office to speed up the digitisation process.
Even though Special Campaign is from 18th to 27th Dec. 2015, he stressed the importance of cleaning the office and surrounding everyday as one does for their respective homes. Only then, the dream of a Clean India will come to materialise, he added.
He appealed all the staff members to contribute at least an hour from their busy life for cleaning of their surroundings.
