UNC organizes Advent Christmas

IMPHAL, Dec 3: United Naga Council (UNC) organized Advent Christmas function along the bank of Chakpi River near United College Chandel today.

Hosted by Chandel Naga Peoples Organization (CNPO), the function was attended by president of UNC Gaidon Kamei; vice-president TS Warngam; general secretary S Milan; president of CNPO Ws Kanral; president of Tangkhul Naga Long Weapon Zimik; village chiefs and representatives from various Naga tribe organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaidon Kamei stated that 2015 has been proved to a lucky year for Nagas as NSCN (IM) and Government of India signed the historic Indo-Naga Framework Agreement on August 3 last.

He hoped that the coming year 2016 would prove long lasting solution to the problems pertaining to Naga tribe.

During the function, Fr Victor Parish Priest, St Peter, Monshang Pantha delivered message of Advent Christmas.

Simple gifts were also presented to several leaders of Naga tribe by the UNC president.
