IMPHAL, Jan 11: Another three accused in the case of the outlawed United National Liberation Front (UNLF)’s chief RK Meghen alias Sanayaima and several other key leaders of the outfit, were examined in the Special Court of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Guwahati today. RK Meghen and other leaders of the outfit are facing trial in the court based on the charge sheets framed by NIA against them.
The three accused who were examined in connection with the ongoing trial are S Gune, Thoiba and Somorjit. They are under judicial custody along with the outfit’s chief and other leaders.
After examining the three accused, the court fixed time for examination of remaining accused in the case.
Mention may be made that examination of accused in the NIA Special Court began from January 7 last after deposition of prosecution witnesses of the case was completed.
