IMPHAL, January 18: The bamboo gazebo located inside the Kangla Fort burnt down yesterday morning. The cause of the fire was due to a love spat.
A young couple was out on a date and sat near at the gazebo located near the rose garden of Kangla. Reports said that the boy bought a gift ( a shirt) for his girlfriend. The girl refused the gift. Afterwards, the angered youth set fire to the shirt and threw it in the dust bin. Later, the fire reached the bamboo and straw roofing and burnt the gazebo down. The security personnel posted inside the Fort apprehended the young couple.
