IMPHAL, Jan 12: The Khongjom Battle Memorial Celebration Committee, Manipur and United Chonghas is going to observe the 108th death anniversary of Major late Chongtha Mia on January 17 at the Manipur Press Club.
Chongtha Mia born in 1842 at Lalambung, Khwai Singjubung Leirak, was one of Manipur’s greatest heroes who furiously fought against the British Empire to safeguard the sovereignty of Manipur. He died in 1908 in Tripura.
