IMPHAL, January 14: The business community of Thangal Bazar has disagreed with the State government’s decision to make a temporary Ima Keithel market shed at the entrance of Thangal bazaar.
The shop owners decrying the action of the State have decided to close down the shops tomorrow. It may be mentioned that the shops at the entrance from near the BT flyover side has been suffering from congestion and loss of customers as the area has been cordoned off to build the temporary market shed since January 7.
At present, construction work is underway and shops have been obscured from view owing to the construction. In this regard, a meeting was held at the Dharamshala building today to further discuss the situation among the shop owners. Among other decisions, the meeting resolved to close down business establishments on Friday.
