IMPHAL, January 8: Scientists, staff and students of Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal led by its Director Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo has announced to donate one day’s salary towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the people who have suffered due to the earthquake.
In a statement the IBSD, stated that the decision was taken during a condolence meeting convened today Takyelpat.
A two minute silence was observed during the meeting as a mark of respect to the people who died in the severe earthquake.
Prof Sahoo appealed to the scientist, staff and students of the institute to contribute generously to help the earthquake victims, it said.
After the condolence meeting, a team headed by Prof Sahoo visited different parts of Manipur and inspected the affected sites and met the family members whose houses have been severely damaged and shared the grief of bereaved families.
