IMPHAL, Jan 10: The Lamlong Keithel Development Committee has said in a press release that a public meeting was held on Saturday at the Sangeet Kala Sangam Hall, Lamlong concerning the development of cracks on the pillars of the present market sheds of Lamlong Market.
A statement of the committee signed by its convenor Th Sharat said during the meeting it was resolved to dismantle the present market sheds as the committee has already began construction of a temporary market shed.
While appealing to the concerned authorities to construct a modern market shed for Lamlong Keithel, it said it was also resolved that if the need arise, the campus of the Khurai Girls School could be acquired and after proper discussing with the concerned authorities, the school could be moved to another location or merged with another school. It said that the meeting also resolved that the committee will handle all issues regarding development of the market.
