IMPHAL, Jan 24: In another incident of never ending crime in the State, unidentified person (s) shot dead a man in a place at Mayang-Imphal Mayang Haokha in Imphal West today around 5.40 pm.
The deceased has been identified as Potsangbam Chandra Singh, 42 son of P Yaima Singh of Mayang-Imphal Heigum Yangbi.
According to reports, there were multiple bullet wounds on the deceased’s waist.
The site where Chandra was shot dead is situated near his farm house. Recently, he procured a gun barrel. His gun barrel is yet to be recovered by police. Nothing could not be ascertained as to who shot dead Chandra and reasons behind it. Police have registered a case in connection with the incident. The dead body has been deposited at RIMS morgue for post mortem examination, the reports said.
