BISHNUPUR, Jan 18: Extending solidarity to the ongoing indefinite Tiddim Road bandh imposed by JAC Tiddim along with several other organizations against the government’s decision of renaming Thangjing Sub-Division as Thangting Sub-Division, a public meeting was organized today at Shanti Mandop Moirang Lamkhai.
Presided over by convenor of JAC Tiddim S Kulla and Moirang Ningthou K Ibohal, the meeting was attended by representatives of Thangjing Seva Mandal; Iramdam Kanba Ima Apunba Lup; Kege Moirang Apunba Lup; Meitei Society Churachandpur; Thangjing Laithel Terakhongshangbi; Historical Development Association Moirang and several organizations.
After having a thorough discussion, the gathering resolved to shut government offices if positive response to the matter is not given within ten days.
The meeting also resolved to intensify the bandh till the government give positive response and invite for talk to end the deadlock over the matter.
