BISHNUPUR, January 19: Endorsing the ongoing indefinite bandh imposed by JAC Tiddim along Tiddim Road against the government’s decision of renaming Thangjing Sub-Division as Thangting Sub-Division, bandh supporters blocked roads at Phubala, Torbung, Moirang Lamkhai and Kumbi by placing wood logs and benches today.
Commuters were checked besides disrupting vehicular movement along the road.
However, educational institutions, religious and emergency services were exempted from the purview of the bandh.
Media persons were allowed to pass only after checking ID card.
According to convener of the JAC S Kulla, more intense agitation will be launched till the government revoke its decision.
At Moirang Lamkhai, Moirang Ningthou K Ibohal and leaders of Cheirap Loishang sat in the middle of the road in protest against the government’s decision.
