IMPHAL, February 15: Thangmeiband MLA clarified that there is no dissident faction among the leaders of the BJP Manipur Pradesh and the party is functioning well under the leadership of the present president.

Addressing a press conference today at his residence, the MLA said there is no ill-feeling among the leaders of the party.

We may have had some internal issues surrounding the replacement of the present president, but it is very shocking to learn about dissident among the party leaders, he clarified to newspaper reports suggesting to a dissident group in the party.

He said the party has its own spokesperson and any person who is not assigned to make statements should not try to create friction in the party by making up stories.

He said if anyone continues to make up stories regarding the party, he will immediately report the said person to the central leaders.

Whether we get a new president or the present one continues we will remain loyal to the president whosoever he is, he added.

The decision regarding the party president’s post is not in the hands of the State leaders, he added.

Meanwhile, Joykishan also warned to take up the issue surrounding the Manipur Civil Service Combined Competitive (preliminary) Examination eligibility criteria during the next Assembly session if in case the concerned authorities fail to meet the demand to modify the criteria.

The MLA said opening the exam to all citizens of the country is unfortunate.

He further condemned the Manipur Public Service Commission authority for failing to make domicile certificates mandatory during form submission.

The MLA also said the public service commissions in other State have included certain criteria in eligibility which are favourable to the local aspirants like making it compulsory for the candidates to know the local language or making domicile certificates necessary.

Unfortunately, the MPSC decided to make the examination open for the entire country and invite online applications only, the MLA deplored.

He further appealed to the MPSC authority look into the issue and to do the needful so that such mistakes don’t occur in the future.

Joykishan also warned of launching several agitations if the authorities fail to listen to the voice of the public.
