IMPHAL, February 16: A sit-in-protest against the changing of Thangting sub-divisional to Kangvai Sub-divisional which started from February 12 continued today at Khousabung market demanding the changing of sub-divisional name to Khousabung sub-divisional.
Today many women folk from various communities participated in the demonstration held at Khousabung market.
A leader of the womenfolk staging the sit-in-protest stated that until and unless the name of the sub-divisional is changed to Khousabung sub division the protest will not cease. If the need arise, we will sacrifice our life for the sake of our demands, she added.
Meanwhile, the Thangting Area Chiefs Association (TACA) Part-II, Kuki Student Organisation (KSO) Thangting Unit and local MLA T Manga Vaiphei held a meeting yesterday and resolve to give full responsibility to the MLA for shifting and naming the sub-divisional, said a press release issue by TACA.
