ADC Sadar Hills chairman inspects CHC Kangpokpi

KANGPOKPI, March 6: ADC Sadar Hills Chairman, Haokholal Hangshing accompanied by Kangpokpi Town Committee Chairman, Chonkam Kipgen visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Kangpokpi and held a brief meeting with the MO in-charge at his office chamber.

The ADC Sadar Hills Chairman while taking stock of the situation, he came to discover that the CHC authority at Kangpokpi including doctors and staffs has been facing a tough time delivering community health service due to shortage of doctors and many other posts.

According to the ADC Sadar Hills Chairman, only four General Medical Officers are available currently at the centre out of ten sanctioned posts as per the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS). Not a single Ward Boy is available at the centre though five posts are sanctioned as per the IPHS.

He said that as per the information available there is also an inadequacy of one Radiographer, one Dresser, one OT technician, three ASHA Facilitators, one LDC, two Registration Clerks, two Statistical Assistants or DEO, one Accountant/Admin Assistant, 2 Ward Attendants, four Ayah, one Peon, three Chawkidars, three Sweepers and one Water Carrier at the centre.

The Chairman urged the State government and concern department to address the grievances of the CHC Kangpokpi authority without delay for the welfare of the general public.

While lauding the humble venture and dedication of the current available doctors and staffs in their efforts to deliver community health service with such inadequacy, he motivated them to sustain their noble commitment for the welfare of the rural populace in providing effective health care.

Stressing the role of CHC in providing primary and preventive care to the people, the ADC Sadar Hills Chairman also advised the MO in-charge, doctors and staffs of the CHC to follow the prescribed guidelines sincerely while delivering safety-net healthcare to the vulnerable population.

He also urged the general populace to endow the health centre authority with the most effective cooperation so as to enable them provide satisfactory service to the people.

Kangpokpi Town Committee Chairman, Chonkam Kipgen expressed gratitude to the Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills Haokholal Hangshing, who is also the local resident for his commitment and concern for the development of health service and the town itself.

He said that Kangpokpi will shortly have the privilege to install 30 solar street lamps along the highway from Kangpokpi Police Station till the main bazar area through the personal interest of the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen.

He lauded the MLA for her sincere concern and dedication towards the town upliftment and progress.

He urged the MLA to ensure completion of blacktopping in the remaining roads in various wards of the town before the onset of monsoon season.
