Cousin killing case: JAC decides to oust accused and family from locality

IMPHAL, March 31: The JAC formed soon after the alleged killing of Laishram Chinglemba alias Naopa of Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai has resolved to ostracise and expel the accused and his family members from the locality.

The resolution was taken during a meeting held at the local community hall, Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai.

The JAC announced that the accused, his wife and other family members including his father and mother will be socially boycotted and expelled from their Kwakeithel Moirangpurel residence for life.

It also decided to boycott anyone found giving shelter to the family and not to receive any form of compensation from the government but to approach the concerned authorities to conduct a proper enquiry into the incident and dismiss the accused from his service. Chinglemba’s body will be accepted only after another joint meeting between the JAC representatives and his family.

The JAC had further strongly condemned the alleged killing of Laishram Chinglemba in broad daylight and further resolved to submit a representation to the concerned authority of Government of Manipur to Chief Minster, Home minister, Director General of Police, Manipur for submitting charge sheet against the accused and his accomplice (if any) in connection with FIR No 58 (3) 2016 Singjamei Police Station under section 365/302 IPC/27 (Act) at the shortest possible time for giving befitted punishment according to law.

The meeting has resolved to provide all necessary report and co-operation to the police in connection to the killing of Laishram Chinglemba.

Lastly, JAC resolved that the further course of action will take-up subject to the positive response of the concerned Government authority.
