IMPHAL, Mar 4: The JAC formed in connection with the alleged killing of assistant teacher Ts Thongkhogin Haokip has called off its indefinite highway bandh following a joint meeting with representatives of the government.
An understanding was reached between the JAC and the government representatives today.
The joint meeting was held at H Kotlenphai Village Community Hall.
IFC minister Ngamthang Haokip, 42-Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency MLA D Korungthang, Chandel ADC chairman Lhukhosei Zou, Chandel deputy commissioner Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, Tengnoupal SDO S Khupboi Aimol and both SPs of Thoubal and Chandel attended the meeting as representatives of the State government.
The JAC submitted a seven point demand addressed to the Chief Minister to the State representatives.
Following the meeting, the JAC decided to call off its agitations and to claim the body.
