JAC rubbishes suicide claim, demands reexamination of autopsy report

IMPHAL, March 5: The JAC formed against the mysterious death of Hatneikim Zou, 32, on February 28 has demanded a re-examination of the post mortem report.

The JAC has warned that it will not claim the body unless its demand is met with.

Speaking to media persons at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club tody, the convener of the JAC Thao Mina Chothe said the JAC will also launch several forms of agitations if in case the authorities concern fail to meet its demand.

She said according to the police, Zou seem to have committed suicide, however, it doesnot seem to be the case, she added.

She continued that the police personnel informed that the reason of deceased was a suicide which is likely a wrong finding.

She continued the woman and her husband had been residing at thier aunt’s place at Nungshai near Loukoipat for the last couple of months.

Tungnung Hatneikim Zou w/o Tungnung Joshephn Zou, 36 of Chothe Lamlanghupi was found hanging from a tree on February 28 morning at Kwakshiphai under Bishnupur Police Station.

She had left for her residence as usual to meet her children and when she failed to return till late night locals searched the nearby areas but she could not found.

The next morning locals found her body hanging from a tree with her cloth.
