KANGPOKPI, March 28: The Kuki Students’ Organization, Sadar Hills has today opposed the proposed 24 hr bandh called by Tongjel Maril District Demand Committee along the National Highway-37 starting midnight of March 28 in Sadar Hills.
KSO-SH president Thangminlen Kipgen said that the proposed bandh which is supposed to be enforced from Keithelmanbi to Noney along National Highway-37 touches some section under Sadar Hills administration.
He pointed out that New Keithelmanbi to Charoipandongba village (Tupul) is under the administrative jurisdiction of Sadar Hills and no bandh could be enforced in this area in connection with the demand of Tongjel Maril District Demand Committee.
He further said that we have nothing to do with the demand of Tongjel Maril district and its demand committee proposed bandh but any attempt to enforce the bandh in the area under the administrative jurisdiction of Sadar Hills will be opposed.
He urged the Tongjel Maril District Demand Committee not to enforce any bandh from New Keithelmanbi to Charoipandongba in connection with their demand.
The student body also warned that it will not remain silent if the bandh is forcefully enforced in the said area and that the Tongjei maril District Demand Committee should be responsible for any unsolicited atmosphere arising out of the bandh.
