IMPHAL, February 29: The Mapithel Dam Affected Chingtam Organization (MDACTO) has warned to launch different forms of agitations jointly with other CSOs starting February 5, in case the government failed to take a decision during the ongoing budget session of the State Assembly on the issue regarding physical rehabilitation, resettlement and economic rehabilitation of the Thoubal Multi-purpose project affected people.
Chairman of MDACTO, Ramthar Shaiza told media person at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club that agitations such as bandh blockade, ban on national and Sate projects, ban on the movement of officials of developmental projects will be launched.
He further said that compensations should be sanctioned at the earliest to avoid any unwanted incident.
He added that they have been deprived of rehabilitation and compensation since many years by the State government.
Shaiza further appealed to the MLAs and ministers of the hill districts to urge the State government on the same to bring a one-time solution to the issue.
