IMPHAL, Mar 12: A 30 year old man has allegedly raped a three-year old neighbour at Kalinagar Part III, Jiribam, around 3pm on March 5, said a statement of the Borobekra Youth Club.
According to the statement, the accused took the infant into his room and committed the crime; however, the incident came to light only when the infant came out crying from his room and inform her mother.
However, when the mother called the people of the locality to help her, no one came to help them, it said.
The mother than sought help from her parental side, following which people from her parents locality came and assaulted the accused, it said.
The club also said soon a Jiribam Police team came and arrested the accused. It has further appealed to the CSOs of the sub-division and the government to award befitting punishment to the culprit.
