IMPHAL, March 22: A combined team of Bishnupur district police commando and 6 Assam Rifles conducted search operation at Khumbi Terakhong near Primary Health Centre area on March 19 and nabbed one member of UNLF, according to a PRO Police statement.
It has identified the apprehendee as “Lance Corporal” Khangembam Binodkumar Singh alias Bungo alias Biramani alias Tompok alias Chingsinba, 35, son of (L) Kh Binoi Singh of Kumbi Bazar Khaidem Lekai.
A case has been registered at Khumbi police station and investigation is going on, it said.
Meanwhile, a team of Bishnupur district police commando including women police conducted frisking and checking at Moirang Patlou area and arrested one lady member of unknown group, Kangleipak National Revolutionary Front (KNRF) on March 20.
The apprehendee has been identified as Athokpam (n) Thokchom (o) Thaibema Devi alias Premi, 34, wife of (L) Th Naobi Singh of Ningthoukhong Awang Khunou but presently Ithai Khunou, it said.
She was travelling in a passenger diesel auto. Three demand letters of the group, KNRF and other incriminating articles were seized from her possession, it said.
A case has been registered at Moirang police station and investigation is going on, it said.
