Awareness prog on POCSO, JJ, RTE Act held

IMPHAL, April 24: The Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) in partnership with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) organised a “One Day District Level Awareness Programme on Implementation of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, Right to Education Act & Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act” at the conference hall of DRDA, Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul district on April 22.

A total number of 107 participants took part in the programme which was chaired by N. Rajnikanta, District Session Judge, Ukhrul District.

DC Ukhrul Hrisheekesh Modak; Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ukhrul District M. Pamela and SP Ukhrul Ningshim Vashum were the guests of honour.

S. Saratkumar Sharma, chairperson of MCPCR presided over the programme.

The participants include officials of Ukhrul DM office, members and staff of MCPCR, 25 police personnel of Ukhrul district comprising of OC and SJPU, officials of Social Welfare Department, Labour Department, CMO staff, Law Department, Ukhrul CWC Members, Ukhrul JJB members, Ukhrul DCPU staff, Ukhrul ICDS staff, ZEO staff, SMDCs, MACR, GOOD Foundation, civil societies and media personnel.

Resource persons of the programme were members of MCPCR, S. Shyamcharan Singh, K. Pradipkumar, Kh. Rajlakshmi Devi, Program Consultant of MCPCR, Bobby Singh and SDPO of Ukhrul District.

Gabriela Golmei, member of MCPCR conducted the inaugural session as well as the technical session.

Ch. Nabachandra Singh, member of MCPCR gave the vote of thanks.
