Maoist claims attack at Lamphel PS

IMPHAL, April 22: Claiming its hand on the bomb attack carried out at the Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West yesterday at around 7.55 pm, the proscribed Maoist Communist Party, Manipur has clarified that the attack was executed by its urban militias ahead of the visit of President of the country Pranab Mukherjee who will be gracing the Khongjom Day observation on April 23.

According to a statement signed by Nonglen Meitei, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda, Maoist Communist Party, Manipur; the daring bomb attack is a clear indication of the inching Marxism-Leninism-Maoism movement in the kingdom which is being suppressed by the colonial rule.

It stated that the first and foremost principle of the outfit is to prove its warfare and potential activities before the public.

The outfit can carry out attack any time against the Director, Deputy Director and Medical Superintendent of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), who have been declared as reactionaries in the past, it contended.

Saying that the outfit is consolidating its armed wing New People’s Militia (NPM) which is divided into two groups namely Urban Militia and Rural Red Guards; it admitted that a team of Rural Red Guards had carried out attack at the designated camp of URF, a signatory group of Suspension of Operation (SoO) on March 2.

The Maoist Communist Party, Manipur reiterated that the outfit has been carrying out attack against its enemies whomsoever once in a month starting from last March.
