IMPHAL, April 15: The Nungei Meitei Meira Paibi Lup and the JAC formed against the firing of shot gun towards a Meira Shang today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the April II incident when three miscreants fired from a shot-gun towards a Meira Shang at Nungei injuring atleast 14 persons.
According to the JAC, 14 persons including four children and six women were injured when the three miscreants on a two-wheeler fired towards the Meira Shanglen.
Following the incident, a seven-member team of meira paibis submitted a memorandum to the State Chief Minister to set up a police outpost in the area at the earliest to address such incident and to identify and punish the culprits at the earliest.
The CM has assured to set up the outpost at the earliest once a proper spot is identified and to investigate the incident, the JAC informed while asserting that it will continue to agitate until the assurance is turned to action.
Meanwhile, Meira Paibi secretary Shanti said minister Nasir has extended some aid to the injured getting treatment at the Raj medicity. She further appealed to all concerned not to repeat the April 11 incident in the future.
