IMPHAL, Apr 5: Royal Riders Manipur today terminated the membership of a rider identified as RK Napolean alias Apache, 38 for his alleged involved in the hurling of a bomb at the residence of IMC chairperson at Brahmapur Aribam Leikai last night.

Referring to the yesterday’s bomb attack, RRM advisor Momo Laishram said such violent act is a threat to the society and the RRM has no relation whatsoever with the act.

Speaking at a press conference this morning at the Manipur Press Club, he said the RRM will no longer entertain the membership of RK Napolean.

He said although Napolean was a member of the club, the other members and the office bearers were unaware of his credentials.

We never inquire and we never tried to find what he does for a living, he observed.

Yesterday’s incident when a member was involved in such a ghastly act has come as huge embarrassment for the club, he added.

Momo further appealed to the public not to lose faith from the club which has been reaching out to the far-end corners of the State trying to help the people.

During the press conference, president Miren Thangjam and general secretary Jogen Phanjoubam informed that RRM has over 150 members, who are professional from various walks of life including journalists, doctors, policemen, photographer, businessmen and musician etc.

The club members get together once in a while and go for rides to plant tree saplings or conduct free-medical camps in the far flung areas, they said.

RRM aims to spread the message of love, harmony, unity and brotherhood, they observed.
