MBC celebrates motherhood on Mother’s Day

IMPHAL, May 8 : MBC Centre Church, Chingmeirong, Imphal observed Mother’s Day, the celebration and appreciation of motherhood at the Church premises today.
Pamleiphy Kazingmei, 71, w/o (L) Asung Kazingmei of Lunghar village, Ukhrul district was crowned this year’s Mother of the Year title.
The 71 year old has successfully raised six daughters and two sons. While both her sons are engaged in business, two of her daughters are school teachers, two are housewives, one evangelist and the other is self employed.
The speaker of the observance M Saluni said women go through a lot in her lifetime. A woman becomes a mother after nine months of pregnancy and an excruciating child birth. Her entire life after becoming a mother is spent in raising her child.
Mothers not just play a vital role in the family, they take part in social issues also, the speaker stated.
MBC Centre Church members led by Pastor Simon Raomei offered prayer for the mothers across the globe at the observance. The Church’s Children Ministry presented a song in honour of mothers while inmates of Tabitha Children Home lit candles.
Evoking the importance and significant role of a mother, denizens of Kangpokpi observed the Mother’s Day today, reports our correspondent.
Some Churches observed Mother’s Day during their respective Church service while some observed separately by organising a special session for all the mothers.
Bible verses, song and gift presentations were the main highlights of the event.
Changoubung village Church also organized a programme to observe Mother’s Day this afternoon.
