IMPHAL, May 23: Materials mainly eatable items which were seized from shops which had defied the 38 hours general strike imposed by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) were donated to Regional Institute of Handicapped Persons, Yairipok Bamon Leikai.
The materials were handed over to the institute by JCILPS Yairipok Wing. In a press note, JCILPS Yairipok Wing said the concerned shop owners were repeatedly asked to approach the wing to have a talk regarding the seizure of the materials but failed to turn up.
As the owners failed to approach, the materials were donated to the needy differently abled persons staying at the Regional Institute of Handicapped Persons, Yairipok Bamon Leikai, it added.
