IMPHAL, June 4: The office of the district Municipal Election Officer has released an order for detailed security arrangement in and around the office complex of DC Imphal West district, Lamphel to ensure smooth counting of votes of the Imphal Municipal Corporation Election, 2016, to be commenced from 2 pm tomorrow.
It said that only specified vehicles would be allowed to enter into the office complex during the counting process.
The officials or individuals that falls under specified categories includes secretary, state election commission, election observer and his liason officers, deputy commissioner , additional district magistrate assistant commissioner to DC, SDO/RO, Election branch officers, SDCs, DIO/NIC, DIO, candidates, their election agents and counting agents and other persons authorised by the office.
The southern gate (main gate) shall be used for entry and exit of the specified categories and all the other fates shall remained closed, it said.
Vehicle parking inside the DC complex will be allowed to park at the south-eastern side for authorised officials while vehicles belonging to candidates and their agents shall parked inside the office complex of the excise department, Manipur.
It said all outgoing vehicle movements from the parking areas shall move out only through RIMS ring road either towards RIMS and then take Uripok Khumanthem Leikai to reach Uripok or N.G College adding that no other persons or vehicles except for the specified groups shall be allowed entry beyond Directorate of commerce and industries, meeting point of Chingangbam Leirak and ring road near north western corner of CRPF camp Lamphel, entry point of Laishram Leirak and near Court complex.
All the officers, officers and vehicles belonging to Election department, directorate of settlement and land record, directorate of employment exchange and private vehicles going to Langol games villages and Imphal Kangchup road shall pass through Chingangbam Leirak.
No persons except the security personnel on duty should be allowed to carry arms and ammunition inside the office complex of DC besides match box, inflammable substance, stick, knife blade or other lethal objects, it said.
All the counting agents of each of the contesting candidates shall be made to wait at the Laishram Khullen Leikai community Hall unit they are called for by the SDO/RO concerned, it asserted.
