2 State natives held in Myanmar

e-Front-__-Abducted-students-at-MyanmarMOREH, Aug 11: Two State natives namely Pausuanlam Ngaihte (32) s/o late Ginzadal Ngaihte of Gamnom Veng Moreh and Gouminlun Zou (26) s/o Suanzagin of Phaicham Veng Moreh were arrested by Myanmar police from Tamu town of the neighbouring country on August 7.
Moreh ADC N Gojendro and Moreh ASP M Mubi held a meeting with Tamu authorities at Tamu DC office today. The Indian officials urged the Myanmarese authorities to release the two arrested Indian Nationals.
Acknowledging that the two State natives were arrested for staying in Myanmar unlawfully after 4 pm, the Moreh ADC and the ASP appealed to the Myanmar authorities to release the duo on humanitarian ground.  However, the Myanmar authorities turned down the appeal while asking the Indian officials to seek the duo’s release through the Indian Embassy.  On being enquired about the quantum of penalty the duo will be subjected to, the Myanmarese authorities maintained that it could not spell out the quantum of penalty as it is dealt by another department. Pausuanlam Ngaihte is a student of St Joseph’s College, Bangalore while Gouminlun Zou is a BA 3rd year student of Kirorimal College, Delhi.
