IMPHAL, Aug 11 : With Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair, a meeting of the Sangai Festival Organising Committee was held today.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers, the Chief Secretary and top ranking officials of different departments.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officials concerned to start due preparations for this year’s edition of Sangai Festival and also to submit proposals about different activities which would be handled by sub-committees. The meeting decided to bring in Chinese tourists through Mandalay, Myanmar. It further resolved to invite Golden Myanmar to operate flight service between Imphal and Myanmar during the Sangai Festival. To promote Loktak Lake as a major venue of the festival and open a handloom and handicraft village were some other agenda of the meeting, informed a source.
