Two bomb blasts rocked Manipur on Wednesday. The first one took place at a Border Security Force (BSF) camp in Moirang Purel village near Imphal, Manipur on Wednesday, in which a seven-year-old child was reportedly injured in the blast. In the second incident, the blast took place at the gate of Manipur University in Imphal.
The details for the second incident are awaited.

On Monday, a bomb blast injured two BSF troopers at Changubung village in Senapati district, adjacent to Nagaland. The bomb was detonated using a remote control device. Another bomb was found in Senapati district’s Chingdongyang village. The bomb weighing 1.5 kg was neutralised inside the Leimakhong army camp.
In another related incident, a bomb that was being taken to Senapati district was recovered from a passenger on a bus. The police had received a tip-off about the bomber, Vikramjit, the Additional Superintendent of Police (operations) was quoted as saying by Indo Asian News Service.
The driver of the bus and another man were arrested. The bomb reportedly weighed 3 kg and could have caused casualties. The police, which was supposed to arrest more people related to the incident, did not reveal the names of the arrested individuals.
On Sunday, a bomb was found near the Army office in Imphal, while a bomb blast in Imphal on Friday wounded one CRPF troopers and a 2 year-old-girl.
Attacks by terrorists on security personnel in Manipur has become rampant, with many incidents being blamed at the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF).
After the NSCN (I-M) in 2015 agreed to hold talks with the Centre and demanded that Naga-inhabited areas be brought under one group, the ZUF opposed it . The ZUF is an active armed group that fights for the rights of Zeliangrong tribe and other indigenous tribes.
