SENAPATI, February 8 (NNN): Working President of the Manipur State Unit of NPF, Solomon Veino, has tendered his resignation from the post and also from primary membership of the party today. Veino cited the party’s decision to deny him a ticket to contest in the ensuing Manipur assembly poll as the reason for his resignation.
According to the resignation letter addressed to the Central NPF President, Veino stated that by denying the party ticket to contest the Manipur assembly election, his ‘selfless contribution’ was ignored by the party. “This, despite having proved the endorsement of my candidature by a large section of voters and also by the 5 elected Members of Autonomous District Council (ADC) from 47 Karong Assemby Constituency to the leaders of the party,” Veino lamented. “The arbitrary decision of the party in denying me the ticket had me convinced that my services are no longer required by the party,” Veino stated in his resignation letter.
