Three held for defying court’s decision in Facebook

IMPHAL: Three persons, including admin of Facebook page ‘Manipur diary’ have been arrested under contempt of court charges for showing strong disapproval in the social media site against the decision of the district & sessions judge, Imphal West to grant anticipatory bail to an accused involved in a fake encounter case.

The arrested trio have been identified as Wahengbam Premkumar alias Taibanganba (26), son of Shyamkishore of Ahallup Makha Leikai, Thangjam Arbin (20), son of late Joykumar Singh of Sagolband Thangjam Leirak and Rajivkumar Singh (28), son of late Bishwajit of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai.

The trio were produced before the court of CJM, Imphal West after their arrest by a combined team of Imphal police station and cyber-crime unit, Imphal West in the early hours on Saturday. They were remanded to police custody for 15 days.
