IMPHAL, Apr 3: With regard to the petition filed by 2nd IRB CO Dr AK Jhalajit seeking interim relief and challenging the order passed by Session Court, Imphal West on February 14 which gave liberty to the CBI for further investigation into the July 23, 2009 BT Road firing incident, the High Court of Manipur has directed the petitioner to submit a rejoinder before the Court on April 25.
The petition seeking interim relief was placed before Chief Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad as the concerned bench where it was listed was not available today.
Senior PP Atul Kumar represented CBI while BD Goswami represented the petitioner as his counsel. CBI counsel senior PP Atul Kumar submitted counter affidavit against the criminal petition filed by the petitioner citing a 10-point ruling of the Supreme Court passed in a similar case.
The petitioner’s counsel prayed for some day’s time for submission of a rejoinder to the criminal petition case.
After hearing both the counsels, the Chief Justice directed the petitioner to submit the rejoinder regarding the case and listed the matter for further proceeding on April 25 in an appropriate bench of the High Court.
