NPF MLAs Leishiyo Keishing, Khashim Vashum feted NPF leader cites reasons for supping with BJP

UKHRUL, Apr 13 : Working president of the Manipur State unit of the Naga People’s Front, Paul Muinao has today laid clear the circumstances under which the NPF joined the BJP led coalition Government and elucidated that the party joined ranks with the BJP only after the BJP assured that the Naga issue will be consulted with all the stakeholders before a final solution is inked.

This came about after the two sides discussed the issue and admitted to the bare facts and the reality, added Muinao. The NPF working president of the State unit further said that the economic blockade was lifted following an agreement that the jailed NPF leaders will be released.

Paul Muinao said this during the felicitation programme of the two NPF MLAs who were recently elected after the Assembly election, Leishiyo Keishing from Phungyar AC and Khashim Vashum from Chingai AC.

The programme was jointly organised by ADC, Ukhrul and NPF Ukhrul division at town hall Phungreitang, Ukhrul. Lifting the economic blockade and the release of the arrested UNC leaders unconditionally was a positive outcome from the agreement reached between the UNC and the State Government, added Paul Muinao.

MLA Leishiyo Keishing (Parliamentary Secretary) in his speech, said that the responsibilities entrusted upon him by the people will never go in vain and pledged that Ukhrul will become an economically self reliant district.

NPF MLA from Chingai AC, Khashim Vashum (Parliamentary Secretary) stressed on equal development adding that the district has been neglected for long. Now this will no longer be the case, he added

NPF will safeguard the rights of the Nagas, NPF stands on Naga issue will not change, said all the NPF supporters and members who had gathered for the felicitation programme.
NPF Ukhrul division president W Shimray, UADC Chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, TNL president Weapon Zimik and former NPF MLA Samuel Risom expressed gratitude to the people for supporting and voting for the NPF candidates.

NPF councillors, NPF party functionaries, social organization leaders and party supporters attended the felicitation programme.
