Ibobi calls for peace on anti-terrorism day

IMPHAL | May 21 : Manipur PCC today observed Anti-Terrorism Day at Congress Bhavan on the death anniversary former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Speaking to media, former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi said the party observed the day in memory of the former Prime Minister who was assassinated on May 21, 1991. The day is observed as anti-terrorism day all over the country today.

Ibobi further said, violence and terrorism will not bring solution to any problem. People must stand against such acts of violence in order to bring peace and harmony in the entire nation.

“By following Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence movement peace and harmony can have a rebirth in the country,” Ibobi Singh said.

Ibobi condemned the terrorist acts in the last few months in different parts of the State committed by some insurgent groups.

Manipur PCC, TN Haokip, former Ibobi, Congress MLAs Konthoujam Ranjit, Nameirakpam Loken and party members paid floral tributes on the photograph of Rajiv Gandhi.
