Kohima, May 27: Nagaland Government on Saturday reiterated to pave the way in the event that any honourable and amicable settlement is arrived at to the ongoing Naga political dialogue.
Passing this resolution in the one day special State Legislative Assembly session, the Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu said that in the event if any amicable and acceptable settlement is arrived between the Government of India and the Naga political groups, then the state government will pave way for any alternate arrangement.
The house unanimously adopted this resolution and appealed the Government of India to expedite the political dialogue so as to bring an early solution to the protracted Naga political problem.
During the one day special session, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly also passed the bill on Goods and Services Tax (GST). The Chief Minister in his speech was optimistic that by introducing the GST bill, a new era of indirect taxation structure and administration in India will come and will also open a new milestone in the tax administration for the state government.
Once the GST is made applicable, the tax administration will be more effective and transparent and would have a beneficial effect on the consumers and the economy as a whole, the Chief Minister said.
