He said this at the closing ceremony of the seven days Festival of Performing Arts at Manipur and Sintak Purelsing Iratchaba organised at Leimayol Arts Centre, Singjamei Chingamakha by Meihourol Inat Thang-Ta Apunba Lup (MITTAL) and Western Standard High School, Salam under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Manipur.
Speaking at the event he said that it is the duty of society to respect the people who are working to preserve traditions and cultures.
He expressed desire for the public and the State Government to recognise and extend benefits to the artistes of the State who are trying to save the various art forms. Mapugee Thoujal Khonga awards were conferred to seven individuals for their contributions in the field of arts. Controller of Examination, BOSEM, Laishram Phulchand Meitei and president, Leimayol Arts Centre, Sagatpam Tomba Meitei were also present at the event as the presidium members.
