IMPHAL | Dec 21 : The Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO), has demanded to review the recruitment process of forest guard, 2016 of Department of Forest.
Speaking to reporters during a press meet held today at the MMWO head office located at Hatta Minuthong, Imphal East, MMWO Secretary Maibam Tabassum Naaz-Alam, said that as per the existing reservation policy in the state, reserved quota for OBC (Meitei-Pangal), is four percent which brings the number of reserved seats to 10 out of the 225 candidates.
However, only four candidates for OBC (Meitei-Pangal) community were found in the merit list of the recruitment result declared on December 23, 2016, she contended.
Taking into account the four percent reservation the number of reserved seats should be10 out of the 225 candidates, she said before questioning where the remaining 6 seats have vanished.
Contending that the development hurt the sentiments of the minority community, she demanded a clarification from the department concerned on the roster adopted during the recruitment process failing which threatened to take up extreme steps.
In connection with the issue, a memorandum has also been submitted to chief minister, forest minister, MLAs of Wabagai ad Lilong MLA, she informed.
