IMPHAL Jan 11: Private nursing institutes operating without proper authorization have been intimated by student organization DESAM to close down.
A press release by the organization publicity secretary LC Bobysana states that many institutes imparting nurses training sans recognition of the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and NOC (No Objection Certificate) from Manipur Government should stop enrollment of students with immediate effect and should make arrangements to transfer the present batch of students to other recognized institutes.
An investigation carried out by DESAM found out institutes giving training for female health worker / auxiliary nursing and midwifery without proper authorization are Nightingale Nursing Institute Porompat ,Khabeisoi School of Nursing Institute Porompat, Rabi School of Nursing Sangaiporou , Female Health Worker Training School Bishnupur , Tentha Nursing Institute ,School of Nursing Kangpokpi ,Christian Hospital Kangpokpi, Female Health Worker School Churachandpur, Female Health Worker Training School Lamphelpat.
DESAM further instructs the said institutes to refrain from admitting fresh students until recognition is given by the Indian Nursing Council in the interest of the student community. The authorities of the stated institutes will be held responsible if the appeal by DESAM goes unheeded, parents should also check the credentials of the institutes in future as not to compromise the future of their wards, the statement said.
DESAM mentions that, the registrar of the INC had intimated authorities of the institutes in the state to stop enrollment until INC guidelines are fulfilled in 2008, similarly private and state operated institutes were intimated to present valid documents of their recognition within March 2010 by the registrar of Manipur Nursing Council.
The INC and MNC should investigate the matter further and announce the status of the nursing institutes and announce the findings in the media for the welfare of the students, the release stated.
Sir, we had admiited my sister to nightingale insitute of nuresing last aug 2010 for GNM course thinkig that it was genuine and recognised by MNC and INC. Later on we came to know that the institution admitted more students than is permiited by MNC( they admitted 40 students but MNC approved only 30). Not only that we came to know the the institution was not recongnisd by MNC and INC. We are really in confusion. We had deposited 35 thousands in advance. They totally spoiled the students carrer. Now they had not refunded us a single paise of our money. They keep lying by shifting the day to refund our money. Sir, we people of manipur should fight together and totally eradicate this type of easy lying business. Please suggest any step we should take to recover our money.
