Training programme on water management concludes

    IMPHAL, Feb 2: A 15 days trainer’s training programme on ‘integrated watershed management approach for livelihood improvement’ under SWAPL held from January 18 concluded today, at the ICAR research complex for NEH region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, Imphal.

    Altogether 26 officers from department of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur and KVKs received training during the programme. About 50 topics related to watershed management and rain water harvesting was covered by experts from ICAR Manipur Centre, ICAR research complex for NEH egion, Meghalaya, BBAII, Bangalore, CAU Imphal and KVKs during the programme.

    In today’s concluding session Dr. I. Meghachandra Singh, senior sceintist, ICAR Manipur centre, deliver his speech about the expansion of technology to the farmers for enhancement of crop production.

    Dr. N. Prakash, Joint director, Manipur centre who also spoke during the conclusion session said that if there is another World War it will be on water before further stressing on the need to conserve water.

    The session conclude with the distribution of certificate of participation to the participants.
