IMPHAL, Feb 8: At least two persons have been reportedly killed and several sustained injuries when a passenger carrying bus lost control at Wabagai Tera Pishak in the afternoon around 1:30 pm, under Waikhong Plice station.
According to reports the bus namely Emoinu express, registration number MN01-1229, was plying from Imphal towards Wabagai.
A victim passenger of the ill fated bus revealed Mayengbam Hemba, the bus was plying at its normal speed however on reaching in front of YPC club at Wabagai Tera Pishak a banging sound was heard by the passengers and seconds after that the bus lost it control and knock at a tree nearby. Later the bus felt into a pond located at the area.
During the accident atleast two persons were killed and while 22 others sustain injury of which 4 is said to be in critical condition and rush to RIMS.
The deceased victim are identified as one Sapam Jugesana Meitei, 60, s/o Babudon of Thounaojam Makha Leikai, Waikhong and Ibema, 40, w/o of Belanta of Hiyanglam Awang Leikai.
